RUSTON, La. - The Louisiana Tech baseball team will play a pair of non-conference games this week before taking the weekend off as they travel to UL-Lafayette on Tuesday and Northwestern State on Wednesday night.

Tech (20-27) has faced both teams already this season, dropping a contest to ULL on March 11, 11-2, and defeating Northwestern State on April 23, 12-10.

In the first meeting with the Cajuns, Tech committed a school-record seven errors and gave up nine unearned runs in the 11-2 loss. Tech managed only six hits and was the beneficiary of two ULL errors. Chris Kersten led the Bulldog offense with a 2-for-4 night, and Adam Cobb saw his 14-game hitting streak come to an end.

Tech ended an 11-game losing streak and won for the first time in its last six tries against Northwestern State on April 23 in Ruston. The 18-hit effort was the second-best of the season for the Bulldogs, and it gave Tech its first victory in the month of April. Kevin Winn had a career night, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored and a pair of RBI. Jericho Jones and Matt Combs also had three hits apiece.

The Bulldogs are 62-77 all-time against UL-Lafayette, and hold an 81-58 advantage all-time over the Demons.

Righthander John Anderson (1-0, 6.45) will get his second start of the season against the Cajuns, facing righthander Danny Farquhar (3-7, 4.94). Anderson picked up his first career victory last Tuesday when he struck out five over two innings at Grambling State.

Wednesday's starter will be dependent on what happens Tuesday for the Bulldogs against Northwestern State.

Tuesday's game will be broadcast by the "Voice of the Bulldogs" Dave Nitz on ESPN 97.7 FM (online at www.espn977.com). Live stats will also be available at www.latechsports.com. For fans in the Lafayette area, KLAF-TV will have the telecast of Tuesday night's game on Cox Channel 12. Video streaming (by subscription only) is available through the UL-Lafayette web site, www.ragincajuns.com.

There will be no Tech radio broadcast for Wednesday's game at Northwestern State, but GameTracker will be available at www.latechsports.com.
