Tech Signs 16 to Letters of Intent

Louisiana Tech football coach Derek Dooley announced the signing of 16 student-athletes to letters of intent Wednesday for National Signing Day. The 2008 signing class includes two linebackers, four defensive linemen, two defensive backs, three offensive linemen, two receivers, one tight end, one running back and an athlete.

This year's signing class ranks second in the Western Athletic Conference according to Rivals.com, a Web site dedicated to scouting and recruiting. Fresno State had the highest ranked recruiting class in the conference with Tech close behind.

"We're very pleased with the quality of players we got in this year's class," said Tech coach Derek Dooley. "However, the final analysis on how productive this class will be will be measured four years from now."

Dooley and his staff now begin preparations for spring practices which begin in March.
